Horse movies have always had a special place in my heart. When I was a little girl I watched The Black Stallion and Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken until the cassettes wore out and the sound was warped. I was always most interested in the horse in any movie. I knew all the horse’s names in the Disney movies, and always paid attention to the skills of their fictional riders. And believe me, I was a harsh critic!

I think we can all agree that horses have a magical way of galloping away with our hearts and the stories that films weave make it all the more magical. I feel like I know Flicka, Lightning, and Spirit as if they were my own horses!
