Music On Mondays: Week Of 4/11/22

Miranda Lambert’s new single “Actin’ Up”

“Actin’ Up” is Miranda Lambert’s newest single off her upcoming album Palomino. She says, “My grandma was a firecracker until her last breath, drinking Crown and Coke. If she can do it, I’ve just got to figure out a way to do it artistically. ‘Actin’ Up’ and ‘Geraldene’ are both songs where there’s fire, but I’m not burning down the house.”

Thompson Square’s new single “Country In My Soul”

Thompson Square’s new single “Country In My Soul” is their first radio release since 2019 and was co-written by rising star Lainey Wilson! The duo shared in an interview, “We really got back to our roots with the new music. In fact, roots is kind of what this song is all about. We’ve lived a lot of life in the last few years – we had a baby, we both lost parents – and our new music reflects a well-lived life, both the ups and the downs.”

Sarah Ryder’s new single “Halfway House”

Sarah Ryder’s new single “Halfway House” is about being one foot in and one foot out of a relationship. She shared on social media, “This song is about that moment when you’re halfway in and halfway out of love – you’re trying to make something work, that may have already reached its end. It is very close to my heart, as this is a place that I have been before, and I can’t wait for you to join me on this journey that is full of new music.”

Gabrielle Metz’s new single “Masks”

Gabrielle’s greatest hope with this song release is to open the eyes of other Gen Z young adults, and to bring back that art of communication and community. She says, “Growing up in a world of make believe through social media, texting communication, I hope that others will be inspired to dig deeper to establish more authentic community and connection.”

Angie Goeke’s new single “If I Were Honest”

“I immediately thought of a couple going through the actions of an anniversary dinner, all the while feeling less than optimistic about the relationship,” Angie explains. “And how many times are we just in denial about the reality of a situation? We end up lying to others and ourselves to cope and push through.”

Brenda Cay’s new video for “Love or Dreams”

Of her new music video, Brenda says, “Chasing my dreams is easier because I have a partner who loves and supports me, but that in turn makes it harder when I have to leave him behind to follow my dream. The “Love or Dreams” video captures the struggle of choosing between my two loves. I wanted this song and video to portray a strong woman who can have her career and love.”
