Cheyenne Frontier Days Celebrates Year Of The Cowgirl

|

Cheyenne Frontier Days started as a cowboy roundup that featured bronco busting contest and pony races. Today, the western celebration is the world’s largest outdoor rodeo. It draws top professionals who compete for more than $1 million in cash and prizes.

One of their most recognizable icons is Miss Frontier. This is a prestigious title bestowed on the Miss Frontier competition winner along with the opportunity to represent CFD. When acting on behalf of the rodeo, Miss Frontier and her Lady in Waiting are dressed in unique white attire, reminiscent of 1930s fashion with a split buckskin skirt and vest, to effortlessly distinguish themselves from the crowd.

With their rich history in the western world and their iconic Miss Frontier, Cheyenne Frontier Days said on social media, “This year, we’re highlighting the spirit and strength of Western women throughout history. Their stories shape ours as we follow in their footsteps, both in the arena and out in the world. Join us as we celebrate the Year of The Cowgirl!”
