Can you believe November is already here? This month really snuck up on many of us! Toward the end of the month, most will be celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. If you want to get in the pre-season mood, then take some time to show your gratitude throughout the month.

Cowgirls have so much to be grateful for, so why not celebrate National Gratitude Month!

Showing Gratitude

  1. You can start the month off by letting your horse know how appreciative you are of them. Bake them a tasty treat and give them some extra scratches.
  2. Take a day to volunteer at your local horse rescue or non-profit.
  3. Let your trainer/instructor know that you value them and their support. A simple Starbucks gift card will usually be well received.
  4. When your farrier comes out to trim your horse's hooves on a chilly morning, have a coffee or hot chocolate waiting for them.
  5. Send you veterinarian's office a card letting them know how thankful you are for all their help over the years.
  6. If you board, offer the barn owner a Saturday or Sunday morning off by volunteering to feed and clean stalls.
  7. For those supportive husbands and boyfriends, spoil them with a night out at their favorite sports bar or restaurant. If they're homebodies, then let them pick the movie and get their favorite snacks.
  8. Get your barn buddies together for a fun bonfire. Bring on the s'mores!
  9. If you're crafty, make something special for your equine professionals (massage therapist, nutritionist, dentist, photographer, etc...). Some ideas include a crocheted scarf, embroidered hat, or beeswax candle.
  10. Lastly, don't forget to show yourself some kindness. Each morning for the entire month, wake up and say a different blessing you're thankful for. You might be surprised with all the wonderful people and things you have in your life.
