For the first time in history, PBR (Professional Bull Riders) will hold its prestigious season-culminating World Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, at Dickies Arena, crowning the 2022 PBR World Champion, and presenting them the coveted gold buckle and $1 million bonus. Harkening back to a past format of the World Finals, reminiscent of when the year-end event was split between Mandalay Bay and Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, the first three rounds of the 2022 PBR World Finals will be held May 13-15, with the final five rounds held from May 19-22.

Before the intense action can get underway, Dickies Arena must undergo what is arguably the greatest transformation of the year. To become an arena suitable for professional bull riding, among other items, the venue will be filled with upwards of 750 tons of dirt. Additionally, PBR’s skilled team will assemble a maze of steel paneling totaling to the length of six football fields, creating both the arena and necessary pens for the bovine athletes.

The conversion, however, will be completed twice as between the PBR’s two weekends of competition, Beatles front man Paul McCartney will hold a concert inside Dickies Arena on Tuesday, May 17. Given the midweek performance, the skilled staff of the PBR will vacate the venue following Round 3 on Sunday, May 15, and then reassemble the entire event in less than 24 hours in time for Round 4 to being on Thursday, May 19.

Dickies Arena will begin its first transformation for the 2022 PBR World Finals on Monday, May 9 with the installation of production of audio-visual equipment, followed by the arrival of dirt and steel setup on Tuesday, May 10.

Join the PBR at Dickies Arena on Tuesday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. CDT to witness the transformation as the dirt begins to arrive.
