Growing up, Victoria Bailey was submersed in a musical and art-filled home – her father is a drummer and her mother has a huge heart for music and art. She sang and played guitar most of her life, and has always just felt a deep love for music woven in her DNA. On her sophomore album, A Cowgirl Rides On, she travels alongside Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, and other classics as she delivers a collection of personal, heartfelt songs that resonate universally. Victoria dwells in her songs, drawing out every note of emotion with her vocal phrasing and musical range.

"The album overall is inspired by all the things I love most. It’s part gospel, part bluegrass, and ties in Western influence and horses and everything in between. The title track from the album was inspired by a book I read a few years back, “Distant Skies,” written by Melissa A. Priblo Chapman, which follows the true story of a woman who rides her horse across the country in the '70s," Victoria explains. "It's a powerful story of a solitude and bravery that hit hard and inspired me immensely. Melissa is the ultimate cowgirl. I knew I wanted to tie her story into a song and intertwine it with the strength I was seeking at the time. I was going through a breakup and what felt like a big life rollercoaster in many ways, and Melissa's story and writing this song really gave me strength and healing through it all." It still does today performing it, and I’m forever grateful for that. It set the tone of the record as a whole, and the rest of it just kinda fell into place."

She continues, "The album's collection of songs is raw and the truth and recorded live all together in one room with my band, where all of the perfect imperfections shine through. This is my most honest piece of work to date. I hope it resonates with listeners in the way they need it most, whether it’s the heartbreak songs or the gospel songs. I hope it takes listeners to a good feeling place, something that feels nostalgic and old-timey and makes you want to take off on your horse or whatever may bring you the most peace in life."

Victoria's favorite track is "Snake Trails," a gospel song she wrote while riding her mustang, Weasley, through the canyon by my her home. "It takes me back to that place every time I sing it. It was inspired by cowboy poetry, and a lot of the gospel records I was listening to inspired a lot of the rest of the record as well. It’s my favorite track to perform live with my band, and Weasley gets a shout-out every time."

When she's not out on the road, Victoria am a full-time preschool teacher. Teaching and performing to kids is truly life’s most special gift to her. She is extremely passionate about sharing the classic folk and country music that is a big piece of her heart, and to know how much those songs will play a part in their lives forever.

"I hope my music can inspire cowgirls of all ages and feel like a beautiful connection for all others who love horses and the sweet country life and its beauty as much as I do. I hope you enjoy the record, and I hope to see you out on the road while I tour with these new songs with my band. Next year is going to be a full and special one. See you out there, and ride on, cowgirls!"
