For rodeo queening and life coach Kate Cox, rodeo queening is an opportunity for young women to discover the best version of themselves. For the past 24 years, Cox has worked to help women of all ages improve their queening skills, and develop a positive, growth mindset for success.
Cox first found her love for rodeo and passion for helping others during her own queening days, where she took home several titles herself, including Miss Rodeo Arizona and Miss Turquoise Circuit. It was during this time that she developed her passion for helping others grow. Fast forward a few decades and Cox is still helping the future faces of rodeo grow as personal leaders and in the varying queening skillsets including public speaking, rodeo knowledge, and interview skills.
The Sierra Vista, Arizona coach has guided cowgirls from across the US, Canada, and Australia for local to national level rodeo queen, public speaking, agriculture, and scholarship competitions. Students who have partaken in Cox’s Lil Bird Promotions program have gone on to win various titles, including many state and national titles. One of Cox’s “Lil Birds”, Miss Rodeo America 2019, and Miss Rodeo Mississippi Taylor McNair described the impact Cox has had on her queening career, “Working with Kate helped me excel in public speaking contests and rodeo queening. Not only is she a great coach, but a great motivator.”
Cox explained the power of her positive personal growth program stems from her work in behavioral health and her love for helping others become the best version of themselves. She explained, “When you strive to become the best version of YOU, you resonate confidence in yourself and all that makes you unique.”
She also explained the importance of finding this confidence through grace. “Having grace with yourself is one of the most important aspects of my program. We can get so caught up in what the world dictates for us, but it is so important to be gentle with yourself.”
Cox also explained the unique foundation that Lil Bird Promotions is set on. The name “Lil Bird” stems from the idea of helping others spread their wings and fly to their own successes. This virtual program has given Cox the opportunity to connect with many young women across the nation and find personal growth through the power of goal-setting and a positive mindset.
Recently, Cox has expanded her program to offer various life coaching skills, including resume development and interview skills. More information on Cox’s services can be found on her website. Cox looks forward to continuing to leave a lasting impact on others’ lives and connecting with them for a long-term commitment to self-growth.
