Growing up on a farm and ranch in Western Oklahoma has cultivated Brett McPherson’s deep love and appreciation for the Western lifestyle. As a result, she has a clear understanding of the modern Western client and shares the same appreciation for all the things they value when it comes to home design with her company Designer’s Brew & Co.

It takes a special eye to bring a creative vision to life. Throughout the extensive home design process, Brett and her clients work through every detail of every room in the home across a series of meetings. She explains, “I compile a very detailed design document I call the “Builder Bible.” This will hold scaled drawings for cabinets, lighting placement for electrical to be pulled, tile drawings, and so much more. There are always meetings and questions throughout the build, but we roll right into furniture design and selections.”

Brett loves digging deeper into her clients’ personalities and interests so she can best design their dream space. “What does their heritage look like? How do they want to use their home? The conglomeration of these answers with trends they like is what inspires our designs. As for me, personally, I am majorly influenced by art of all kinds. I am a total sucker for Native American or cowboy art of any kind–saddles, paintings, vintage china, vintage rugs, blankets, literally anything.”

She is now setting her sights on her newest project: an American-made line that is bringing a cleaner line to Western furniture. “We are making the pieces for the new Western client looking for something a little edgier. I take great pride in embracing my clients’ legacy and honoring that.”
