Directed by Mark Amin and produced by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Reginald Hudlin, Emperor is based on the story of real-life slave Shields “Emperor” Green. The film follows Shields (Dayo Okeniyi) as he escapes slavery and heads north for freedom.
