Spartan, portrayed by Stormy in real life, is a favorite to Heartland fans. He's been on the series since the beginning when Amy and her mom, Marion, rescued him. It's no doubt that he has a special place in Amy's heart, both on and off the set!

Here's some basic facts about this cutie...

Spartan

"I know Spartan has a big spot in my heart, so I hope I have at least a little spot in his heart. He’s just so nonchalant about everything so I wouldn’t know if he was happy to see me or not but it appears that way."—Amber Marshall (Amy Fleming)

Stormy, the horse that portrays Spartan, started this role at the age of five. It was his first acting job! The cast members of Heartland describe him as friendly and eager for attention. One of his favorite places to be scratched is right under his cheeks. Not only is he intelligent, but he loves being in front of the camera and doesn't get bored easily.

In the series, Spartan is a passionate jumper. Him and Amy compete together and even win a first place. Eventually, they slow down on competitions and focus on liberty work. He's also her "to go" horse around the ranch.
