The Oklahoma Wildcatters, the latest addition to the PBR Teams, is excited to announce JB Mauney as the Head Coach and Brandon Bates as General Manager. Owned by Talor Gooch, a professional LIV Golf champion from Midwest City, the Wildcatters aim to bring a new dimension of excitement and competition to the PBR scene in Oklahoma.

JB Mauney, known as the dragonslayer in professional bull riding, takes on the coaching role for the first time. With two PBR World Championships and a record-breaking number of rides in his career, Mauney is prepared to use his extensive experience to lead the Wildcatters to success.

"I've conquered some of the toughest bulls in the world and emerged victorious,” Mauney said. “Coaching the Oklahoma Wildcatters is a new challenge, but I'm ready to bring my experience and passion for bull riding to this team and help shape the next generation of champions.”

Both Mauney and the Wildcatters' GM, Brandon Bates, will play a crucial role in scouting and selecting the team's roster, which will start taking shape when up to six riders are selected in the 2024 Expansion Draft, with details to be announced later. The team can enhance its roster by signing unrestricted free agents after the Expansion Draft. Finally, additional riders will fill out the roster when the 2024 New Rider Draft takes place, with the Wildcatters and the New York Mavericks having the best odds of securing the number-one overall pick for the 2024 season.

The Oklahoma Wildcatters are ready to make their mark on the PBR landscape, supported by a team of seasoned professionals and Gooch's unwavering support. As the team prepares for its debut in July at the Paycom Center, fans can anticipate a thrilling showcase of talent, determination, and the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines the sport of bull riding.
