Johnny Cash, The Man in Black, the legend, the icon…one of the most influential men of all time! Now that we have all of that out of the way, let’s take it back to 1954, when Johnny was just beginning his music career.

My Treasure was one of the solo demos that Mr. Cash made at Sun Records, and it’s one of his greats! The song was not released until after Johnny signed with Columbia Records, and it was included in his 1961 album Now Here’s Johnny Cash. 

This version is 100% real and authentic, even including a messed up line, resulting in Cash restarting the song. I don’t know about y’all, but I really think the realness of this song can’t be beat. Listen yourself, and let me know what you think.
