Madelyn Rose's New EP "Teenage Heartache"

Rising country singer-songwriter Madelyn Rose’s new EP “Teenage Heartache” captures the perspective of a sixteen-year-old navigating love and heartbreak in today’s generation. At only 16 years old, she delivers performances well beyond her years and continues to find a resonance between her lived experiences as a teenager in small-town America and the empowering, anthemic vibes of classic country greats like her all-time idol Carrie Underwood.

“It's what I've always listened to. It's what I grew up on. To me, it just like really feels like home. I grew up riding four wheelers and fixing boats, and all that kind of stuff, so I almost embrace it. I've always been drawn to that aesthetic,” she says.

Feeling heartbroken and hurt in the past couple of years was a major influence on Madelyn’s new EP. “It was a very new thing for me to experience because I am so young,” she explains. “I just really didn't know how to process it besides talking through it and writing about it. The first 3 singles were recorded in June of 2022, where I was in a completely different place in life. I later recorded "Sober" and "Missing Me Now" in May of 2023, giving more of a rock meets country vibe.”

Through relatable lyrics, each track transforms heartache into confidence, showcasing the journey from “I’m the one that got away” to “No matter what I do, I’m never over you.” Madelyn says, “I want others to know they’re not alone. All the feelings that you're having are valid.”

Growing up in a small town has helped Madelyn stay grounded and true to her roots. “At the end of the day, I just love to sing and play and write, and I love to be on a lake and fish. That’s my life. I just try to stay as simple as possible. It is really just so fun for me.”
