Rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has been making the most of his recent move to Houston!

Fellow residents gave him a warm welcome, photoshopping him in front of spots like at Turkey Leg Hut, Buc-ee’s, H-E-B, the Downtown Aquarium, Willie G’s Seafood, the Houston Museum of Natural Science and even Whataburger.

On Saturday he took a deeper dive into the Houston social scene attending the 2021 Rodeo Uncorked! Champion Wine Auction at NRG Center. Jackson had a good reason for being at the prestigious wine event - his champagne, Le Chemin Du Roi Brut, was awarded Reserve Grand Champion Best of Show from among 2,601 entries of the RodeoHouston wine competition judged in November 2020.

“When they told me I won, I almost fainted,” Jackson was quoted on RodeoHouston’s Facebook page. “I was really excited. I’m very proud of this.”

The rapper’s wine caught a winning bid of $160,000 at the auction. Le Chemin du Roi Brut sells for about $160 per 750 ml bottle at retail.

Jackson also got into the spirit of things, bidding $175,000 for the Grand Champion Best of Show, Alexander Valley Vineyards Cyrus. But the winning bid was $200,000.

Jackson made a big impact at the auction. He donated two packages (one 15-liter bottle of his champagne and dinner for 10 each) that went for $100,000 each. In total, counting his champagne's winning bid, he raised $360,000 for RodeoHouston.
