By Ken Amorosano | May 21, 2018 Share Known as the “Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West,” and one of the top five rodeos in North America, the annual Reno Rodeo kicks off a 10-day, action-packed western celebration with family fun and special events for all ages from Thursday, June 14 to Saturday, June 23. The rodeo is preceded every year by a cattle drive that celebrates the rich legacy of the “Wild Wild West” with a journey through the High Desert. For five days leading up to the event, up to 60 guests join a team of volunteer cowboys to drive 300 head of rodeo steers from Doyle, California, to Reno, Nevada. Looking ahead to its centennial celebration in 2019, the Reno Rodeo is honoring its past by collecting and sharing stories depicting the rich history of the rodeo through a multi-media project called the Reno Rodeo 100 Years 100 Stories.
