Barn Hacks

  1. Tennis balls can be added to the ends of your crossties to eliminate the metal hitting the wall when you unclip your horse.
  2. Baby wipes are great for cleaning- tack and horses! They can act as grooming wipes to leave your horse shiny.
  3. Add a strip of Velcro to your tack room wall to act as a protective boot holder.
  4. Stuff dryer sheets in your tack trunk or feed room to keep mice away.
  5. A dog tag with your horse's name can be attached to their bridle, halter, or blanket. There will be no confusion now!
  6. Vinegar is handy for cleaning metal and removing rust.
  7. Diapers can be useful in treating a hoof abscess.
  8. Rub a bar of soap (like Irish Spring) on wood surfaces to prevent your horse from chewing on them.
