The fabulous Lazy E Arena will welcome nearly 1000 youth rodeo athletes and their families to the prestigious CINCH World Championship Junior Rodeo in less than one week. Dishing out nearly $400,000, the CINCH WCJR breaks ground as one of the richest youth rodeos in history. The storylines are only beginning to be written, as top-tier athletes from nearly every corner of the country look to make their mark in Guthrie.

The event will feature two divisions, juniors aged 13-19 and youth aged 10-15 as well as multiple opportunities for athletes to win big. With an optional buy-back round and the opportunity to enter the event as a Jr. Ironman Qualifier, the opportunities for youth athletes to showcase their talents have never been bigger.

In the Youth Division, all-around standouts Alli Autrey and Briar White aim to make a statement as they pursue multiple titles, including the coveted All-Around Championship. Briar White entered the event in the driver's seat of the leaderboard standings, earning him an automatic seeding to the Championship Tie Down Roping Round.

Also turning heads in the Youth Division is 15-year-old heeling standout Kaitlyn Torres. Torres will be healing for Bryce Ehlinger and expressed her excitement for the event, “Opportunities like these have blown up the world of youth rodeo. It’s great to see these opportunities.”

Looking towards the Junior Division, all eyes will be on one all-around cowgirl in particular. Kasey Bass looks to make her mark in Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, and Breakaway Roping. With a hot streak almost as hot as the Texas heat, Bass recently took home the Barrel Racing title in Shawnee, Okla. at the 2023 International Finals Youth Rodeo and looks to continue the success with her homegrown equine partner, “Woody”.

Also fresh off of a big win at the IFYR is the 2023 Saddle Bronc Riding Champion, Jasper Frost– who also looks to continue his success in Guthrie. Returning to the Lazy Arena is reigning WCJR Champion Bull Rider, Wacey Schalla. Schalla, who owns his own bucking bull company, qualified through nominating events and earning his place on the leaderboard. As the current leaderboard champion, Schalla is automatically seeded in the Championship Round of Bull Riding and will also make appearances in Saddle Bronc Riding and Bareback Riding with his eyes set on the coveted All Around Cowboy Title.

With quick hands and athletic determination, a competitive pack of Goat Tiers will also make their way to Guthrie to compete on one of the largest stages for Goat Tiers. Reigning Louisiana High School Rodeo Association State Champion Goat Tyer Alyssa Gary aims to etch her name in the WCJR history books, albeit it will be a close race. With spitfire speed demons Hannah Fullmer from Logandale, Nev., and Amy Ohrt from Victoria, Tex. The race is sure to be one to keep rodeo fans wanting to keep their eye on.
