The mission of COWGIRL is and has always been to empower women within the Western industry.

One way we do this is to seek them out and write about them. As our loyal readers know, we reach far and wide across many professions, lifestyles, and communities.

In our latest edition, we present an intimate portrayal of singer/songwriter Elle King, a maverick performer who has carved her niche in both pop and country music.

In Wendy Wilkinson’s in-depth interview, Elle talks about her fascinating life and career as well as her recent journey to motherhood.

I spent a day with Elle and her team when we shot the beautiful cover and layout images in Nashville in December. I found her to be genuine, kind, funny, giving, loving, and generous. She treated me and the entire staff with respect and gave 100% of herself to the photoshoot and the story.

The unfortunate event several weeks ago at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville appears to have thrust Elle into a negative light.

I wanted our readers and supporters to know that we do not condone what took place on that stage but as a brand whose mission is to empower women within the Western industry, we support any effort Elle makes to make amends and address any personal challenges she may be facing.

I encourage you to read the story and immerse yourself in the images Elle so genuinely gave for COWGIRL.
