Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Cowgirl Magazine

The legendary Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is the oldest continuously running livestock show and rodeo in the world. It has been held annually in Fort Worth since 1896, and is as much a part of Texas as cowboys and oil.

When January 18th rolls around, the gates will be thrown open for the 123rd time to celebrate Fort Worth’s signature event. More than one million people attend the iconic rodeo to see some 30,000 livestock entries from all over the country.

There are livestock auctions, more than 5,000 entries in 11 horse show breeds and disciplines, and, of course, there’s the PRCA rodeo in which more than 1,000 contestants compete.  Food choices as big as Texas and musical acts even bigger bring large groups of fans for the 23-day celebration of Cowboy. The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo takes place at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, January 18-February 9.
