Lane Frost. That name will stir up emotions in the heart of every cowboy and cowgirl. When he passed away in 1989 at Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world lost one of the greatest bull riders to ever live. Lane was much more than a bull rider though, he was a husband, son, and well loved friend.

His talent and character led him to becoming the Bull Riding Champion at the 1987 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Let’s rewind time and relive one of the greatest moments in rodeo history.

Lane has been remembered in many ways since his passing. One of the most memorable tributes to Lane was when Tuff Hedeman rode for Lane at the 1989 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Rewatch Tuff’s incredible ride here.
