“When I started this journey I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to capture, what I wanted to build my brand around, or who I wanted to involve myself with. I have always been influenced by the western way of life, living on a ranch in my younger years and growing up riding barrel horses. I began shooting anything that I could get my hands on, but nothing that really set my soul on fire. Growing up, my dad wore a cowboy hat, my grandpa wore a cowboy hat, and now as a young adult most of my closest friends wear cowboy hats. I was scrolling through my Instagram feed thinking of topics to structure this around and I realized there are a lot of cowboy hats throughout my feed! I then realized that I have surrounded myself with what I really love, and my business has flourished because I have began shooting things that I am truly passionate about and can relate to! It is really easy to get caught up in the cliches of the world, but I wake up striving everyday for my brand to stay true to my roots.

“I had the opportunity to work with a lot of influential brands in the western industry, and that is what really boosted my confidence and helped me realize that I belonged exactly where I was at. I knew my heart was fond of couples, love, families, and life- so I took off after those things. I have met some of the greatest people that I get to call my closest friends throughout this journey and they have really helped me lay the foundation for my business. After sitting here trying to pinpoint what my business is actually about, here are the things I have come up with. Foremost faith, life, and a lot of cowboy love! It took looking down my feed and seeing a trend for me to realize that I have branded myself and my business in the middle of the western way of life. I would not have it any other way! I pride myself in knowing that I have a unique style and my photos speak when I don’t have the words to.

“If I don’t know my clients before photoshoot day, I usually try to chat with them a bit and ask them questions to get them more comfortable with me. I am always excited to hear how they were referred to me. Most of the time before a shoot I will ask the clients what they are going to wear, and give them advice on outfits if needed! When picking a location I always ask my clients what type of scenery they are wanting for their photos. I travel to most of my clients, and I really love that we get to shoot on their homesteads, ranches, and family land the majority of the time!

“Photos are an investment that my clients are able to look back on for years to come. I hope when they look back on these photos, memories flood their minds back to the exact day we took the photos.”
