For Mesa Pate, the word cowgirl means so much: friendship, strength, history, family, and more. About the word “cowgirl,” she says she “[doesn’t] use that term lightly because of all the women behind [her] that have given that name what it means.”

Getting to spend time with Mesa on-ranch in Wickenburg, Arizona was such a special experience. Watching her rope and ride, it was clear that she was the epitome of cowgirl spirit.
