When you first pull aside the flap on one of the safari-style canvas tents, you’ll find sumptuous linens adorning a rustic bed, set amidst chic Western furnishings. The five camps are situated in a variety of scenic settings, from cliff-side or creek-side to along the Blackfoot River, and at four miles from the Village at Paws Up, distant enough so that you may immerse yourself in nature, but not so far away that your camp chef and camp butler cannot attend to your every whim.

If tent camping’s a bit too rustic for you, choose among the elegant-yet-rustic luxury homes in the Village at Paws Up, ranging from 1,100 to 3,000 square feet, each with its own fully equipped kitchen.

Wherever you choose to lay your head, you can fill your days with a seemingly endless supply of outdoor adventure. The Resort at Paws Up has ten miles of riverfront and its own fly-fishing guides to assist you in plying the waters for native trout. Or, you can experience the river from a canoe, kayak, or raft. Its Saddle Club is the largest private equestrian center in Montana, with a 23,000-square-foot indoor arena and 52 stalls.

The 37,000-acre Paws Up is a working ranch, with a couple hundred Black Angus grazing the rich pasturelands, and several hundred head of free-roaming wild native elk. With more than 100 miles of scenic trails that you can experience from the saddle, on an ATV, or on a mountain bike, you can explore an expanse of wilderness as pristine as when Meriwether Lewis and William Clark first gazed upon it.
