In 2009 when footwear giant Steve Madden broke the news that a side brand dedicated entirely to boots would be making it’s debut I was stoked (to put it lightly). I had come to love the 90’s-born company for their edgy looks (yes, I had a pair of those giant heavy black slip on sandals with the spandex and like everything 90’s it’s having a comeback. You can buy the redux on the S.M. site here). According to the now well established and well known FREEBIRD by Steven brand the core values upon which the company rests is freedom, individuality, and independence. Yeah, that sounds pretty good. The company strives to make, not just a shoe, but a piece of art. All the shoes are hand-crafted and made with Goodyear construction, luxurious leathers, and intricate metal work. So you know they’ll last.

These boots are perfect for the fashionista that likes to wander away from the western styles every once in a while. Unique and cool details like rivets, strings, and chains make these boots edgy, fun, and different. The company has clearly continued to break the mold in the fashion boot industry. Check out my top picks from their recent releases below. There are tons of styles to look at so be sure to check them all out at freebirdstores.com. Oh, and their Instagram account will make you drool so do yourself a favor and go follow them!
