Elyssa Leininger is a professional Western and wildlife artist who creates vivid and dramatic paintings inspired by the American West and her Western lifestyle. She grew up involved in the horse and livestock industries, competing in rodeo, hunting, fishing, and enjoying Montana’s vast landscapes.

At 17 years old, Elyssa underwent a heart operation that resulted in complications. Upon recovery, she viewed the world as more vibrant and sacred, inspiring the artistic visions she now creates. She graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2017 with Bachelor degrees in art and biology, a minor in psychology, and the Rocky Mountain College Art Award. She has since received countless accolades for her art, as well as for her work in the community. She has painted more than 12,000 square feet of neglected public spaces in her hometown of Billings, Montana, making her one of the largest creators of public art in the region. Elyssa is a member of the Western Heritage Artists Association, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame, and she is passionate about sharing her love for art and the American West so everyone may experience her passion.

Vision for the future of women in the Western industry: Serving as ambassadors and leaders with grace and grit, women are trailblazers in the Western industry. Western women in prior generations have paved the way and left a legacy, allowing for future generations of women in the Western industry to follow in their footsteps, as well as blaze trails of their own. Women are taking the Western industry by storm and my vision for the future of women in the Western industry is vibrant. Along with so many other Western women who are serving as leaders in the industry, I am striving to create my own legacy and leave footprints in which future Western women can follow, ensuring the Western way of life thrives for generations to come.
