3-time- Wrangler National Finals Breakaway Roping qualifier Shelby Boisjoli took home the coveted Silver Spurs and Reno Rodeo Breakaway Roping title in style this past weekend. During the Short Go, Boisjoli roped her final calf in a commanding 2.2-second run to match the week's fastest time and uphold her position at the top of the leaderboard with a leading aggregate time of 7.5 seconds.

"This win is huge. I still can't wrap my head around it. I was really wanting to win Reno and I still can't believe it." gleamed the Canadian roper, who was all smiles after the big win.

Taking home almost $12,000 after a successful week in Reno, Boisjoli also became the first breakaway roper to take home the same paycheck as winners of the other events. This year, marked a new chapter for the Breakaway Ropers of Reno, with an equal payout for the first time since the event's inception, ropers had the opportunity to kick off their Summer run in a big way.

"This rodeo is so renowned and it is such a big deal. Having added money here is a big statement for Reno and I'm excited to see the growth every year."

Boisjoli, who has been one of the top money winners over the past few weeks, explained that this hot streak couldn't have happened at a better time. "We have been traveling back and forth from Reno to Canada this week and it definitely relieves some of the pressure to be on a bit of a winning streak now," explained Boisjoli.

Looking forward to an exhilarating next few weeks packed full of rodeos, Boisjoli will look to hit as many rodeos as possible during the infamous "Cowboy Christmas" run. The Langdon, Alberta, Canada cowgirl looks to capitalize on this momentum as she looks to qualify for her fourth consecutive NFBR.
