COWGIRL STYLE Western Fashion Meets Haute Couture At The Met Gala By Samantha Crowley | May 7, 2019 Share If you needed more proof that western trends are making their way into contemporary fashion, here it is. Last night’s Met Gala in New York brought together some of the most celebrated and stylish people on the planet. This year’s theme, Camp, inspired the colorful, gaudy styles seen on the pink carpet. By definition, camp is something that is “deliberately exaggerated and theatrical in style, typically for humorous effect,” according to Google Dictionary. With that in mind, Met Gala guests took fashion to the extreme with massive frills, copious amounts of feathers, and eye-catching color. Several notable characters sported cowboy-inspired trends, including Solange Knowles, Taron Egerton, Paloma Elsesser, and Tommy and Dee Hilfiger. Python, fringe, and head-to-toe denim brought an air of cowgirl style to the Met Gala. Western world representation was found in Kacey Musgraves, who donned a bright pink, Barbie look, complete with an entrance in a pink convertible. https://www.instagram.com/p/BxJCjgUhhT5/ View this post on Instagram A post shared by HAUTE FASHION (@themetgalaofficial) View this post on Instagram A post shared by FERRAGAMO (@ferragamo) View this post on Instagram A post shared by HAUTE FASHION (@themetgalaofficial) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxJEp9tB6rH/ Which look is your favorite?
